BEHIND THE CAMERA

Many things happen behind the lenses of the camera. If I’m going to take the path leading to the world of mass communication, I’d like to practice any career that is behind the camera. It could be a segment producer, a researcher, an advertiser or even an assistant.
I like to see my name on the credits at the end of a certain show because it’s the only way people that I know will recognize me. Any career that’s behind the camera would be perfect for me because I know I can prove myself in this field. I don’t want to end up a mess reporter who couldn’t speak for herself on TV because she’s scared.

Life?

How can you say you’re contented with your life? How do you deal with it? Many of us think that life is unfair. Life maybe hard but not unfair. I believe that we make our own future. We are the ones to be blame to whatever may happen to our lives.
Human needs are unlimited while our resources are limited. That’s why we suffer from scarcity. We have plenty of needs but few treasures to dig. There’s a saying “Be contented of what you have but don’t be contented with what you are.” I believe that if only people will use whatever they have in their hands to improve their lives. There’s no need for us to suffer and have a hard living. We only need to work hard so that we can eat and be able to survive life. We badly need to improve our daily living as well as ourselves. It is our foundation to achieve our dreams.
A person is useless when he is not doing anything to change his life. Nobody will change your life for you. It is your obligation. It is only you who can help yourself. Everything is in your hands. So you must take a step and create an action towards life improvement.
Remember: you don’t need to have all the money and power in this world. All you need is faith in God. You do the things you need to accomplish and He will find His way to your heart to help you.

I’m A Dengue Survivor!

Headaches, on and off fever and body pain; these are just few symptoms of Dengue fever. Doctors compare these sign similar to flu detection signs. People may get confuse with this just like what happened to me.
Last July 1, 2012, I woke up feeling so heavy. My head aches so bad that it made me cry. I feel cold and can’t move my body from the bed. So I tried my best to lessen the pain I feel by waking up my dad. He also did his best to help and comfort me. Then my mom helped me too. The next day, nothing’s changed. I feel the same way again. I drink paracetamol every 4 hours to stop my headache and fever. I thought it was just a “normal fever” that I used to have whenever my birthday is coming. But I was wrong, definitely wrong about this.
Four days later, I’m still sick. So my mom decided to see a doctor and ask for help. Our family doctor advised me to have my blood check and have Dengue NS1 test. So I did as Dr. Sandoval said. We went to The Medical City Hospital for the CBC and Dengue NS1 test. We waited 3 hours for the result. I was so nervous that instance. I was praying that my WBC and platelet counts are normal. I said to myself that the result is negative. Unfortunately, it was positive. I cried and broke down. But my mom told me that whatever happens, she’ll be on my side.
I was confined 5 days at TMC. The doctors did their best to save me from Dengue. Luckily, I survived. I am a dengue survivor! I was so happy that I want to go home that moment.
Many people don’t take dengue cases seriously. For what happened to me, Dengue is fatal. It could change your life the moment you have it.  You won’t know it until you have it. It’s very hard to have Dengue. Even it is harder after you recover from it. So I advise all for you to take good care of yourself. Drink plenty of water and have a good rest. Avoid the places where mosquitos lay their eggs. Be aware of your surroundings. Lastly, always ask guidance from Him. He’s the only one you can run to. He did help me so He will help you too. I’m  writing this because I don’t want other people to suffer from Dengue.
